about

I really like this song and it is popular in Santa Barbara. Whenever I play it I get major applause. Don’t think it would do as well in Houston or Alaska, but who knows? This song did well on Jango internet radio and on Neil Young’s “Living with War” website where it was in the top 20 for over a month I think (out of over 3000+ songs).

I wrote it in January 2011 after the “Tuscon Massacre” where Gabby Giffords was shot and many others killed and wounded. Initial news reports showed that SarahPAC’s website had put gun sites over Tuscon (Giffords District), utilizing the same recruitment tactic that the “Army of God” used to recruit their assassins on the internet. The media stopped reporting the truth and the Ayatollah issued her famous, nonsensical, “Blood Libel” defense of her tactics.

Dr Sleppian in Buffalo, and many other Gynecologists who also performed abortions were murdered by the “Army of God”, and to my knowledge not a single Republican was outraged by it, or even mentioned it, even though their parties anti-abortion platform empowered the murderers. Here we saw the same tactics being used in politics. “Evil must be exposed so that it can be expunged” (Blake).

I wrote this song to say what wasn’t being said in the media. Someone in the UK did a youtube video with the song that is entertaining, and follows the story line fairly closely (search for “Ayatollah Palin”). They must have downloaded the song from Itunes. This version is slightly remixed from the itunes version. I argued with myself about leaving in the organ parts but I think they add a lightness and frivolity that offset the serious subject matter, so I left it.
